About The Groove Music Life
The Groove Music Life is a total reboot of what once started out as Stuck In A Pagoda With Motoko Aoyama. It is wholly devoted to intelligent musical commentary on Japanese pop and Western punk rock, alternative, and independent music, placing both musical cultures on equal footing, as well as promoting the wider legal availability of Japanese pop and rock acts to Western and European music fans by way of a grass roots campaign to obtain live and retail access of these acts to the general public at large.
FAQ:
What happened to Stuck In A Pagoda 1.0 and 2.0?
Stuck In A Pagoda 1.0 was destroyed thanks to the ineptitude and lack of proper business and people skills of the owner of that blog’s hosting company, who was more concerned with promoting his own hair-metal oldies band than with making sure his customers were billed in a timely and business-like manner.
Stuck In A Pagoda 2.0 will still exist as a static site, and it is likely that some reviews intended for 2.0 will be completed and posted as subpages on that site.
What about So Hot She Shits Fire?
So Hot She Shits Fire will continue to exist. I just have more pictures than commentary/”dialogue” ideas at this point, but I will never let a month go by without some Reina worship.
Why is the site called The Groove Music Life?
The name comes from a misreading of the shirt Miyabi Natsuyaki wears on the cover of Berryz Koubou’s 17th single “Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance”. (The actual text of the shirt can be seen here.)
What will happen to The Vinyl Pagoda Project?
The Vinyl Pagoda Project will not only continue on this blog, but since there were only a few posts prior to this blog’s conception, the previous posts will be ported from the Pagoda, date and all, to this blog.
Will other projects from Stuck In A Pagoda make their way to The Groove Musical Life?
Yes.
Is work on Here Is The Wonderland and other non-blog writing projects a culprit behind the slow activity on Pagoda 2.0?
Yeah. Sorry. I can’t help it. I want to write for a living!
I have another question. Can I ask it?
Sure. E-mail me and I’ll see what I can do.
